Today marks 39 weeks. I'm still shocked how many people are brave enough to ask how I feel. Do they really want the answer?! Actually it's not that bad. I'm still working. I feel decent in the morning, but start going downhill in the afternoon. Mainly it's my feet - swollen and tender, and then I have to wonder if my knees are swelling too by afternoon. Since my back is normal in the morning, I'm sure my chair and my posture is probably contributing to some back pain that starts in the afternoon. then there is just the overall uncomfortableness of this huge belly expanding everywhere from my ribs to my bladder.
So when I hear stories of friends with sciatic pain or blood pressure problems or past stories of being on bed rest, I feel a little guilty for bringing up my minor aches and pains.
I'd still like to hold off for natural labor to begin but my doctor will want to induce at 41 weeks. I go back on Friday for another internal (OMG the last one hurt!). So I'll ask if they go ahead and schedule an induction or wait till the next week to schedule it. From the sounds of how many people were busy getting it on back in June making babies, I'll be setting the date on Friday for the week of the 23rd.
And with the mention of an internal exam hurting - you can damn well bet that I'll be asking for epidural. Ofcourse I'll take a reduced pain option. Again - I'm shocked how many people ask me that.
oh, I had a funny dream the other night. I think the set up was something similar to something I experienced as a game on a cruise - scavenger hunt in one room, that involved getting articles of clothing. In the dream I was giving my bra to someone and when I lifted up my shirt I had a nice flat stomach. I don't remember much about the dream (if I actually flashed people or not), but I remember a flat tummy - it was so nice. And I know it's still months away from happening - please don't remind me :)

Yeah... I don't understand why anyone would NOT want an epidural!
It sounds like we had the same pregnancy (but my swelling also came with carpal tunnel... not fun!). I know it's hard to believe now, but in 2 or 3 weeks, you won't even remember what this pain felt like! :)
Can't wait to hear your "SHE'S HERE!" news! Are you planning to post something on here from the hospital?
